October is one of the best months of the year to be in Pensacola.
The summer crowds have eased up, temperatures are finally starting to cooperate and the calendar shifts straight into fall festivals, live music, Halloween events, the Pensacola Interstate Fair and some of the final chances of the season to catch the Blue Angels practicing at home.
From Pensacola Beach to downtown and East Hill, here are some of the biggest events happening around Pensacola in October 2026.
Pensacola Beach Songwriters Festival
October 1 through 11
Pensacola and Pensacola Beach
October starts with 11 days of original music during the Pensacola Beach Songwriters Festival.
The festival brings songwriters to venues across Pensacola and Pensacola Beach, giving audiences a chance to hear songs performed by the people who actually wrote them and hear the stories behind the lyrics.
The first portion of the festival focuses on downtown Pensacola, while the second weekend moves primarily to Pensacola Beach.
Many performances are free, although several listening room and special events require tickets.

First Friday Art Walk
Friday, October 2
4:30 PM to 7:30 PM
Downtown Pensacola
Downtown Pensacola turns into an open air art crawl on the first Friday of October.
First Friday Art Walk brings local artists, galleries, live music, refreshments and exhibitions together throughout downtown.
The event is free, and complimentary trolley transportation connects participating locations, making it easy to move between stops without having to walk the entire route.

See Ballet Pensacola’s Frankenstein
Friday, October 2 through Sunday, October 4

Ballet Pensacola opens its 48th season with a world premiere production of Frankenstein.
The new ballet by internationally acclaimed guest choreographer Gonzalo Galguera is inspired by Mary Shelley’s classic novel and follows Victor Frankenstein beyond the creation of his famous creature.
Performances are scheduled Friday at 7 PM, Saturday at 1:30 PM and 7 PM, and Sunday at 1:30 PM.

Santa Rosa Island Triathlon
Saturday, October 10

Pensacola Beach
The Santa Rosa Island Triathlon has been moved to October 10, bringing hundreds of athletes to Pensacola Beach for a sprint distance race.
The USAT sanctioned event includes a 600 yard Gulf swim, a 21 kilometer out and back bike course along Pensacola Beach and a 5K run through the beach neighborhood.
The race starts at 7 AM, with transition opening early in the morning and awards scheduled for 10:30 AM.
If you are not racing, Casino Beach is still a good place to watch the action before spending the rest of the morning on the beach.
Sea Turtle Youth Triathlon
Sunday, October 11
Pensacola Beach
The weekend continues with a second triathlon designed specifically for younger athletes.
The Sea Turtle Triathlon gives children ages 6 through 15 the chance to compete in their own swim, bike and run event on Pensacola Beach.
The race uses a closed course and is designed to give young athletes a full triathlon experience while friends and family cheer them along.
East Hill Spooktacular Makers Market
Tuesday, October 6

Pensacola
East Hill kicks off its fall Makers Market series with a Halloween themed Spooktacular Market at Cordova Square.
The free neighborhood market brings local makers and small businesses together for an afternoon of shopping in one of Pensacola’s most walkable neighborhoods.
The East Hill Fall/Winter Makers Market series continues with a Harvest and Manna Food Pantry Drive in November and a Holiday Makers Market in December.

Festa Italiana
Friday, October 9 and Saturday, October 10

Come hungry for this one.
Festa Italiana takes over Seville Square for two days of Italian food, music and culture.
The festival features favorites including shrimp scampi, spaghetti and meatballs, lasagna, sausage and pepper sandwiches, cannoli, tiramisu and other Italian desserts.
There will also be Italian music, cultural demonstrations, children’s activities, prize drawings and a silent auction.
Admission is free, with food, drinks and merchandise available for purchase.
Catch the Blue Angels Practicing at Home
October 14, October 20 and October 28
Around 10:30 AM
NAS Pensacola
October brings three more scheduled opportunities to watch the Blue Angels practice over Pensacola before the team heads toward the November Homecoming Airshow.
Practices are scheduled for October 14, October 20 and October 28, with the demonstrations normally beginning around 10:30 AM.
October 14 and October 28 are also scheduled autograph days at the National Naval Aviation Museum.
Watching from the museum flight line is free, but you can also turn the practice into a full Pensacola experience by watching the Blues from the water.

Beach-O-Ween

Pensacola Beach Boardwalk
Pensacola Beach
Halloween arrives early on Pensacola Beach with Beach-O-Ween.
The free family event includes a costume contest, bounce house, games, face painting, candy, hot dogs and other activities throughout the Pensacola Beach Boardwalk.
Admission and activities are free.
Pets are not permitted unless they are service animals.
Gallery Night: Ghoulery Night
Friday, October 16
5 PM to 9 PM
Downtown Pensacola
If you want a more grown up Halloween atmosphere, downtown Pensacola has its own event the same night.
October’s Gallery Night becomes Ghoulery Night, bringing more than 70 art vendors, live performances, food and creative experiences into the streets of downtown Pensacola.
Gallery Night is free and open to the public.
That makes October 16 an easy night to build around, with Beach-O-Ween happening on Pensacola Beach and Ghoulery Night taking over downtown.
Pensacola Interstate Fair
October 22 through November 1
Pensacola Interstate Fairgrounds

The Pensacola Interstate Fair takes over the fairgrounds for 11 days of rides, fair food, livestock, exhibits, games and live entertainment.
More than 50 rides are expected across the midway, while concerts on the Pepsi Open Air Stage are included with fair admission.
The 2026 concert lineup includes The Band Perry on October 23, Hunter Hayes on October 24, Lauren Alaina on October 28, LOCASH on October 30 and The Lacs on Halloween night.
Opening day on October 22 is Dollar Day, with $1 admission for ages 4 and older and $1 midway rides.
Advance admission and ride wristbands are also available at discounted prices before the fair opens.
Cinemas in the Sand: Toy Story 5
Friday, October 23
Pensacola Beach
October brings another free movie night to Pensacola Beach.
Cinemas in the Sand will show Toy Story 5 on October 23, giving families a chance to watch a movie outdoors just steps from the Gulf.
Bring beach chairs or blankets, grab dinner on the island and make a night out of it.
Fall Farms and Pumpkin Patches
Throughout October
Milton
October is also prime pumpkin patch and corn maze season around Santa Rosa County.
Holland Farms is open daily through November 1 with a pumpkin patch, corn maze, hayrides, train rides, zip lines and other farm activities.
Sweet Season Farms is open weekends through November 8 with its corn maze, pumpkin patch, sunflower paths, hayride and numerous farm activities. The farm also has special nighttime Flashlight Maze events scheduled for October 23 and October 30.

Foo Foo Festival Begins
October 29 through November 9
Locations throughout Pensacola
Pensacola’s biggest arts and culture celebration begins at the end of October and continues into November.
Foo Foo Fest is a 12 day celebration featuring art, live music, theater, performances and other creative events across Pensacola.
The 2026 lineup includes events from Ballet Pensacola, Pensacola Opera, Pensacola Symphony Orchestra, Pensacola Museum of Art, 309 Punk Project, PenArts, Pensacola MESS Hall and several other local arts organizations.
Some events are free while others require tickets.
Taste of the Beach
October 29 through November 1
Pensacola Beach
One of Pensacola Beach’s biggest food weekends closes out October.
Taste of the Beach is a four day event featuring food, live entertainment and family activities around Pensacola Beach.
The main Saturday festival takes place October 31 from 10 AM to 4 PM at the Gulfside Pavilion and includes signature dishes from 16 Pensacola Beach restaurants, live music, kids cooking classes and hermit crab races.
The weekend also includes the VIP Trolley Dinner on Friday, October 30.

Palafox Market Halloween Market
Saturday, October 31

Downtown Pensacola
Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, and Palafox Market is leaning all the way into it.
The regular Saturday market transforms into a Halloween Market at Martin Luther King Jr. Plaza and Plaza Ferdinand VII with trick or treating, costumes, a Haunted Trolley and a Creepy Critters live animal experience.
Families can meet animals including a tarantula, coastal carpet python, Madagascar hissing cockroach, emperor scorpion and Norway rat, along with a mystery animal.
The Haunted Trolley will connect the two market locations, while kids can also enjoy games, activities, photo opportunities and appearances from Pumpkinhead.
Admission and most activities are free, with mini train rides being the exception.
Bands on the Beach Continues Through October

The free Bands on the Beach series continues every Tuesday through October 27.
The October lineup includes The Astronauts on October 6, SheAndTheIts on October 13, The Oliver’s Twist Band on October 20 and Horseshoe Kitty on October 27.
Bring a chair or blanket and catch live music overlooking the Gulf without buying a ticket.
Make Time for the Water
October is one of the best months to get outside around Pensacola.
The afternoons are more comfortable than midsummer, the beach is quieter and there are still plenty of ways to get on the water between events.
If you have an open night between festivals, a sunset sail is an easy fall date night or activity for visiting friends and family.

October is packed from the first weekend through Halloween.
Start with the Songwriters Festival and downtown events, head into Festa Italiana and the Blue Angels, then move into Halloween events, the Interstate Fair, fall farms, Taste of the Beach and the opening days of Foo Foo Fest.
The Santa Rosa Island Triathlon has also been moved to October 10, with the Sea Turtle Youth Triathlon following on October 11.
