The event is open to alumni, students, fans and other community members. Plans include complimentary food, giveaways and a cash bar. No registration is required, and fans of all ages may attend.
The tailgate concludes when doors open at the Bay Center, leaving attendees time to travel from the waterfront restaurant to the arena.
Parking arrangements for the tailgate have not been separately announced. Guests should follow posted rules around Seville Harbour and allow time to relocate their vehicles before the game if necessary.
A Milestone in UWF’s Division I Move
UWF announced its move to NCAA Division I athletics in April 2026.
The Florida State matchup adds an established ACC program to UWF’s first Division I basketball schedule. Other announced nonconference opponents include Florida International, South Florida and Navy.
For local fans, Battle at the Bay provides an opportunity to see the Argonauts face a major in state opponent without traveling outside Pensacola. It also places the game in the region’s largest indoor arena instead of UWF’s campus field house.
The event arrives during Thanksgiving weekend, which may make it particularly attractive to alumni and visiting family members already in the Pensacola area.
Bay Center Parking and Entry Rules
The Pensacola Bay Center has parking adjacent to the arena. Event parking is cashless.
The venue has not posted a separate Battle at the Bay parking price on the event page. Drivers should be prepared for a parking charge and confirm the current rate before entering the lot.
Accessible parking and entry are available through the Alcaniz Street entrance.
Guests will pass through metal detection before entering. Each person may bring one bag no larger than 12 by 12 by 6 inches or one small clutch measuring approximately 6.5 by 4.5 inches. Medical and diaper bags are permitted after screening.
Backpacks, large bags, outside food, outside drinks, umbrellas, noisemakers, professional cameras and detachable lenses are prohibited.
Plan for a Busy Holiday Weekend
The combination of an in state opponent, UWF’s new Division I status and a $10 starting ticket price could create strong local demand.
Fans attending the tailgate should allow enough travel time to reach the Bay Center before tipoff. Those skipping the tailgate should plan to arrive before the 1 p.m. door time to park, clear security and find their seats.
Choose seats through the official event page, then decide whether to add the free Fish House tailgate or the Alumni Party Deck to the afternoon.
