Explore Cruises →The Nine Mile Road destination combines upscale dining, a sports bar, virtual reality attractions, classic games and a separate liquor store.
Pelican will celebrate its grand opening Saturday, November 7, at 1420 W. Nine Mile Road in Pensacola.
The newly built entertainment complex brings several concepts together in one destination, including an upscale restaurant, a casual bar and grill, virtual reality attractions, classic arcade games, pool tables and a liquor store carrying more than 6,000 products.
Pelican began its soft opening October 19. Regular operating hours are scheduled to begin with the November 7 grand opening.

Two Dining Experiences Under One Roof
Pelican is designed to accommodate both dinner reservations and more casual visits.
The upscale dining menu leans into Gulf Coast and Southern flavors. Current selections include Gulf snapper Creole meunière for $36, grouper Pontchartrain for $39, bucatini with shrimp and crab for $32, Creole chicken for $27 and an herb crusted rack of lamb for $48.
Appetizers include duck and andouille boudin balls, duck spring rolls, ahi tuna crudo and a jumbo lump crab cake.
Desserts currently range from $9 to $12 and include bananas Foster crème brûlée, key lime pie, bread pudding and a rotating sorbet.
The sports bar side is intended to provide a more casual setting for drinks, games and group outings. Pelican has also announced plans to introduce a weekend brunch menu, although the final brunch start date and complete offerings remain unconfirmed.
Virtual Reality and Arcade Attractions
Pelican’s entertainment area includes immersive virtual reality games and motion based experiences.
Announced attractions include:
VR fighter aircraft simulation
VR racing
A first person shooter arena
VR Mecha battle simulation
Neon Warrior
A 3D dome theater
A 5D dynamic cinema
VR Empire World
Basketball arcade games
Pool tables and other classic games are also part of the complex.
Individual game prices and package rates were not displayed on the pages reviewed for this guide. Visitors should confirm current pricing and age or height restrictions before promising children a specific attraction.
Reservations and Parking
Pelican’s website includes an online reservation option for dining and entertainment.
Because the business is moving from a soft opening into regular operations, available reservation times and booking options may continue to change. Calling ahead is recommended for larger groups, birthdays or anyone planning to use the virtual reality attractions before they close at 8 p.m.
Pelican has onsite parking around the Nine Mile Road development. No separate parking fee has been announced.
Grand opening traffic could make the lot busier than usual, especially around dinner. Guests visiting primarily for the arcade should arrive earlier in the day rather than waiting until the final hour of VR operations.
A New Indoor Option for Pensacola
Pelican gives Pensacola another indoor entertainment option for families, date nights, birthday groups and visitors looking for activities away from the beach.
The combination of upscale dining and virtual reality also allows adults and children to choose different experiences within the same development. Families should remember that the bar and restaurant remain open later than the VR arcade.
Review the official menu, confirm game pricing and make a reservation before visiting during the November 7 grand opening weekend.
