Saturday’s program pairs a full evening concert with a $10 afternoon dress rehearsal at the Saenger Theatre.

The Pensacola Symphony Orchestra will perform music by Mozart, Bizet and Stravinsky at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, November 7, at the Saenger Theatre.

Tickets for the evening concert currently range from $23 to $86. A working dress rehearsal begins at 1:30 p.m. the same day, providing a more affordable way to experience the program for $10.

Both performances feature conductor Peter Rubardt and guest pianist Carter Johnson.

Concert begins at 7:30 p.m.

The program includes:

Igor Stravinsky

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

The Pensacola Symphony describes the concert as a journey through Classical and Neoclassical music, beginning with Stravinsky’s playful suite before moving to Mozart’s dramatic piano concerto and Bizet’s energetic symphony.

Evening Concert Tickets Begin at $23

Published ticket prices for the evening performance are:

Orchestra and Balcony A: $86

Orchestra and Balcony B: $61

Orchestra and Balcony C: $42

Orchestra and Balcony D: $23

Some seating areas have limited availability or may sell out before the concert. Exact seats can be selected through Ticketmaster, while section based tickets are available through the Pensacola Symphony website.

Online fees may apply. Groups of 10 or more can contact the Symphony ticket office at 850-435-2533, extension 100.

Virtual tickets are also available for viewers who want to watch live or on demand from home. Pricing should be confirmed through the official virtual ticket portal.

The $10 Dress Rehearsal

A public working rehearsal will begin at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, with doors opening at 1 p.m.

General admission costs $10. Tickets may be purchased online, by calling 850-435-2533 or at the door if space remains.

The rehearsal is expected to last approximately 150 minutes.

Unlike the finished evening performance, the orchestra may stop and repeat sections while adjusting balance, timing and interpretation. Many pieces are expected to be played in full, but the rehearsal format means the experience will not follow the uninterrupted pacing of the evening concert.

For students, families and visitors curious about how an orchestra prepares, the rehearsal offers additional behind the scenes value at a substantially lower price.

Guest Pianist Carter Johnson

Carter Johnson will perform Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 24.

The concerto is the central work in the program, positioned between Stravinsky’s Pulcinella Suite and Bizet’s Symphony in C. Johnson’s appearance is sponsored by BioNews and Drs. Barry and Lori Ripps.

The full concert is also presented as part of the Foo Foo Festival.

Parking and Saenger Theatre Policies

The Saenger Theatre does not have its own adjacent parking lot.

The venue recommends the Jefferson Street Parking Garage and the Intendencia Street Parking Garage. Metered spaces and additional City of Pensacola parking areas are available throughout downtown.

Bags larger than 14 by 14 by 6 inches are prohibited. Guests may be screened with metal detectors, bag checks or handheld wands before entering.

Outside food, outside drinks, umbrellas, professional cameras and recording equipment are not allowed. The Saenger’s concessions are cashless and accept cards and mobile wallets.

Because Saturday evening parking can become busy around Palafox Street, concert guests should arrive well before the 7:30 p.m. start.

Choose the Experience That Fits Your Budget

The evening performance offers the complete concert experience, while the afternoon rehearsal gives audiences a lower cost look at both the music and the orchestra’s preparation process.

Families or first time symphony visitors may find the $10 rehearsal especially accessible. Guests who want assigned seating and an uninterrupted performance should choose the evening concert.

Check current seat availability through the Pensacola Symphony, then purchase tickets before the lowest priced sections sell out.
