September is one of the best months to be in Pensacola.
The summer crowds begin to thin out, the weather is still warm enough for beach days, and the local calendar fills up with some of the biggest events of early fall. This September brings the Pensacola Seafood Festival, Bulls on the Beach, multiple Blue Angels practices, live jazz on the waterfront, Gallery Night, fireworks and several weekends worth planning around.

Labor Day weekend gets weird in the best possible way when the Beach Famous Bathtub Races return to Pensacola Beach.
Teams climb into homemade bathtub vessels and attempt to race across the water behind Bamboo Willie’s while crowds watch from the Pensacola Beach Boardwalk.
The long running event has become one of the more uniquely Pensacola Beach traditions of the year and makes an easy Sunday afternoon stop before the evening fireworks.
Labor Day Weekend Fireworks on Pensacola Beach

Pensacola Beach
Pensacola Beach closes out Labor Day weekend with fireworks over Santa Rosa Sound.
The show begins around 8 PM and can be viewed from several areas around the Pensacola Beach Boardwalk, Quietwater Beach and nearby waterfront locations.

Bulls on the Beach at Flora-Bama
September 10 through 12
Flora-Bama
Perdido Key
One of Flora-Bama’s biggest events of the year returns for three nights of professional bull riding.
The 13th Annual Bulls on the Beach brings professional riders from around the country to a temporary rodeo arena at the Flora-Bama, with themed nights, live entertainment and family activities throughout the weekend.
Thursday is Kids Night and Camo Cowboy Night.
Friday features a Patriotic Tribute.
Saturday closes the weekend with 90s Country Night.
A portion of event proceeds benefits St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Cinemas in the Sand

Pensacola Beach
Free movie nights continue on Pensacola Beach with another Cinemas in the Sand showing September 11.
A giant outdoor screen is set up near the Gulfside Pavilion at Casino Beach, giving families a chance to watch a movie just steps from the Gulf.
Admission is free.
Bring a beach chair or blanket and arrive early enough to grab dinner or spend some time on the beach before sunset.
Blue Angels Practice

The Blue Angels return to the skies over Pensacola September 15 for another hometown practice.
Official practices are typically held over NAS Pensacola and last around 45 to 55 minutes.
The National Naval Aviation Museum flight line is one of the most popular places to watch, but the team can also be seen from several locations around Pensacola Bay.

Gallery Night: Viva Pensacola Latino Festival

Downtown Pensacola
Gallery Night returns to Palafox Street September 18 with the Viva Pensacola Latino Festival.
Downtown Pensacola will fill with music, food, art, vendors and cultural performances celebrating the region’s Latino community.
Gallery Night is free to attend and takes place throughout the downtown Palafox corridor.
Restaurants, bars and shops also stay busy throughout the evening, making this one of the better nights of the month to spend downtown.
Gulf Coast Summer Fest Jazz Edition

Downtown Pensacola
One of Pensacola’s biggest music weekends of September returns to Community Maritime Park.
The Gulf Coast Summer Fest Jazz Edition brings multiple days of jazz, R&B and live entertainment to the Pensacola waterfront.
The annual festival draws visitors from throughout the Gulf Coast and turns the Community Maritime Park area into a full weekend destination.
If you are coming from outside Pensacola, this is one of the September events worth planning an entire weekend around.
Vettes at the Beach

Casino Beach
Pensacola Beach
Hundreds of Corvettes take over Casino Beach when Vettes at the Beach returns September 19.
The annual car show brings Corvette owners and enthusiasts to Pensacola Beach for a full day of cars overlooking the Gulf.
Visitors can walk through rows of Corvettes representing different generations, styles and custom builds.
The Casino Beach location also makes this an easy event to pair with lunch, the Boardwalk or an afternoon on the beach.
Blue Angels Practice

NAS Pensacola
September offers another opportunity to see the Blue Angels at home on September 22.
The team is scheduled for another practice over NAS Pensacola, giving locals and visitors two practice opportunities during the month.
Admission to the National Naval Aviation Museum is free, and practice days are among the best times to visit if seeing the Blue Angels is a priority.
For a completely different view, local operators also offer Blue Angels practice cruises on Pensacola Bay.

Pensacola Seafood Festival
September 25 through 27
Seville Square, Fountain Park and Bartram Park
Downtown Pensacola
The Pensacola Seafood Festival is one of the biggest events of the entire fall season.
For three days, downtown Pensacola fills with seafood vendors, local restaurants, live music, arts and crafts, family activities and thousands of visitors.
Admission is free.
The festival takes place around Seville Square, Fountain Park and Bartram Park, with food ranging from shrimp and grouper to crab cakes, gumbo, seafood mac and cheese, paella and other Gulf Coast favorites.
More than 170 artists and craftsmen are also expected throughout the festival grounds.

FWC Pensacola Lionfish Invitational and Festival

Downtown Pensacola
The 2026 FWC Pensacola Lionfish Invitational and Festival returns the same weekend as the Pensacola Seafood Festival.
Divers compete to remove invasive lionfish from Gulf waters while the public festival brings conservation education, vendors and activities to Plaza De Luna.

Because Plaza De Luna is only a short distance from the Seafood Festival grounds, the two events can easily be combined into one downtown day.

Bands on the Beach continues every Tuesday throughout September.
The free concert series brings a different local or regional band to the Gulfside Pavilion each week with the Gulf of Mexico as the backdrop.
September concert dates include September 1, September 8, September 15, September 22 and September 29.
Bring a lawn chair or blanket and arrive early if you want to grab dinner on Pensacola Beach before the show.

September Is a Big Month for Pensacola Events
September is one of those months where almost every weekend has something worth planning around.
