Sand in My Boots is officially making a comeback!
The popular beachfront music festival, which debuted in Gulf Shores, Alabama, in 2025 with a star-studded lineup curated by Morgan Wallen, has announced plans to return in May 2027.
The festival shared the news on Instagram with a graphic announcing its return, ending months of uncertainty surrounding the future of one of the Gulf Coast’s biggest music events.
The announcement follows a year without a festival in 2026. According to recent reports from Gulf Shores officials, the 2027 artist lineup is expected to be revealed in November 2026.
While specific dates, ticket prices and performers have not been announced, the news is already generating excitement among fans hoping for another weekend of live music on the beach.
Sand in My Boots Confirms May 2027 Return
The official Sand in My Boots Instagram account, in collaboration with The Club at The Hangout, shared a graphic announcing the festival’s return in May 2027.
The announcement marks an important milestone for the event, which launched in May 2025 as a new take on the longtime Hangout Music Festival.
Additional details are still limited, but Gulf Shores officials have provided more information about what fans can expect.
During a recent community meeting at Happy Pappy Coffee Shop, Gulf Shores Director of Recreation and Cultural Affairs Grant Brown reportedly confirmed that Sand in My Boots would return in 2027.
Brown also indicated that the festival’s official artist lineup is expected to be announced in November.
That means fans may not have to wait much longer to learn who will take the stage next year.
Will Morgan Wallen Return for Sand in My Boots 2027?
Morgan Wallen was the driving force behind the original Sand in My Boots Festival in 2025, helping create and curate a lineup featuring artists from country, rock, hip-hop and other genres.
However, Wallen’s participation as a performer in 2027 has not yet been officially confirmed.
The festival’s first edition was built around Wallen’s musical influences, friends and collaborators, and his involvement was a major part of what made the event different from the traditional Hangout Music Festival.
Fans will have to wait for the lineup announcement to find out whether Wallen will perform again and which other artists will be included.
A Look Back at the Sold-Out 2025 Festival
The inaugural Sand in My Boots Festival took place May 16–18, 2025, on the beaches of Gulf Shores, replacing the traditional Hangout Music Festival format for that year.
The three-day event brought together an unusually diverse collection of performers, including:
● Morgan Wallen
● Post Malone
● Brooks & Dunn
● HARDY
● Riley Green
● Bailey Zimmerman
● T-Pain
● Wiz Khalifa
● Diplo
● Ella Langley
● ERNEST
● 2 Chainz
● Three 6 Mafia
● The War on Drugs
● 3 Doors Down
The festival quickly became one of the most talked-about music events of 2025.
According to organizers, the inaugural event sold out within two hours of its public ticket sale.
A presentation from the City of Gulf Shores later reported that the festival had a capacity of approximately 40,000 attendees per day, with tickets purchased by fans from all 50 states and 19 countries.
The event also featured a variety of premium experiences, including upgraded viewing areas, VIP lounges, special hospitality packages and beachfront accommodations.
For Gulf Shores, the festival represented a major tourism event, attracting visitors to local hotels, restaurants, attractions and businesses during one of the area’s busiest spring travel periods.
Why Was There No Sand in My Boots Festival in 2026?
Following the success of the inaugural festival, many fans expected another event in 2026.
Instead, organizers announced that no festival would take place that year.
The decision followed discussions between event producers and the City of Gulf Shores regarding the future of the longtime Hangout Music Festival agreement.
The city’s original festival agreement was scheduled to conclude after the 2025 event, and city leaders delayed consideration of an extension while gathering community feedback and evaluating the festival’s performance.
Although the Gulf Shores City Council eventually approved a two-year extension, the decision came too late for organizers to adequately prepare a major festival for 2026.
The compressed planning timeline made it difficult to secure the lineup and coordinate an event of the size organizers wanted.
In December 2025, Sand in My Boots clarified that it had never planned to hold an event in 2026, while leaving open the possibility of returning in a future year.
Now, with the May 2027 announcement, that possibility is becoming a reality.
When Will Sand in My Boots 2027 Tickets Go on Sale?
An official ticket sale date has not yet been announced.
The festival has also not confirmed ticket prices or whether its 2027 packages will follow the same structure as the inaugural event.
For reference, the 2025 festival offered multiple ticket categories, including General Admission, Party Pit, VIP, Super VIP and Livin’ The Dream experiences.
Some packages included upgraded viewing areas, private lounges, special food and beverage offerings and additional amenities.
With the 2027 lineup expected in November, additional ticketing information could be released around the same time, although organizers have not confirmed a timeline.
Fans should rely on the festival’s official website and social media accounts for verified ticket announcements.

What This Means for Gulf Coast Music Fans
The return of Sand in My Boots is especially exciting for music fans living along the Gulf Coast.
For residents of Pensacola, Pensacola Beach, Perdido Key, Orange Beach and surrounding communities, Gulf Shores offers the opportunity to experience a nationally recognized music festival without traveling across the country.
The beachfront setting has long been one of the event’s biggest attractions.
Unlike traditional outdoor concert venues, the festival takes place directly along the Gulf, combining major touring artists with the atmosphere of a beach vacation.
Visitors can spend the weekend enjoying live music while also exploring Gulf Shores, Orange Beach and the surrounding Alabama Gulf Coast.
The festival’s return could also bring another major tourism boost to the region, with visitors expected to book hotels, vacation rentals, restaurants and local experiences around the event.

Several important details are still pending, including:
● The exact May 2027 festival dates
