Looking for plans after spending most of the week watching Tropical Storm Bertha?

Pensacola has a packed weekend ahead with a Roaring 1920s murder mystery, downtown ghost tours, roller derby bulls, Monster Jam and parasailing over Pensacola Beach.

Here are five things happening around Pensacola from Friday, July 24 through Sunday, July 26.

Solve a Roaring 1920s Murder Mystery

Seville Quarter and Going Noir Mysteries are transforming Heritage Hall into a glamorous and dangerous 1920s speakeasy Friday and Saturday night.

An artifact recovered from King Tut’s tomb has arrived for appraisal, but its mysterious curse may have followed it to Pensacola. Murder, the Mafia, moonshine, mystics and the supernatural all collide in a case that the detective will need help from the audience to solve.

Doors open at 6 PM, and the show begins at 7 PM. Tickets are $69 and include a choice of two entrees.

Date: Friday, July 24 and Saturday, July 25
Time: Doors at 6 PM, show at 7 PM
Location: Heritage Hall at Seville Quarter

Explore Haunted Downtown Pensacola

Hear stories of murder, mystery, restless spirits and Pensacola’s notorious former red light district during a haunted walking tour through downtown.

The two hour experience visits historic locations including Seville Quarter, Plaza Ferdinand, the Saenger Theatre and the old Escambia County Courthouse. Guests also receive ghost hunting equipment to take part in a paranormal investigation along the way. Tours are available throughout the weekend, with reservations required.

Instead of actual bulls, participants are chased through the 2K course by members of West Florida Roller Derby wearing horns, roller skates and carrying plastic bats.

Runners are encouraged to wear white or arrive in costume. The festivities continue after the race inside Seville Quarter with complimentary beer, music, dancing and entertainment.

Date: Saturday, July 25

Go Parasailing Over Pensacola Beach

Celebrate the return of summer weather with a parasailing flight over Pensacola Beach.

Key Sailing offers single, tandem and triple parasailing rides from the Pensacola Beach Boardwalk. Each flight lasts approximately 10 to 12 minutes and provides elevated views of the Gulf, Santa Rosa Sound and the island’s white sand beaches.

Weekend reservations are recommended, especially when weather earlier in the week has limited time on the water.
