Become a sponsorOne of downtown Pensacola’s most unusual races returns to Seville Quarter on Saturday, July 25.
The 15th Annual Running of the Bulls begins at 9 AM and sends participants through a 2K course while members of West Florida Roller Derby chase them through the streets wearing horns, roller skates and carrying plastic bats.
No actual bulls are involved, but runners should still be prepared to dodge, sprint and laugh their way through the course.
Running of the Bulls Event Details
Date: Saturday, July 25, 2026
Time: 9 AM
Location: Seville Quarter in downtown Pensacola
Course: Approximately 2K
Participants of all experience levels are invited to run, walk or jog. Costumes are strongly encouraged, and many participants traditionally wear white in the style of the famous Running of the Bulls in Pamplona, Spain.
Watch Out for the Bulls
The event’s “bulls” are members of West Florida Roller Derby, who will skate behind participants while wearing horns and carrying plastic bats.
Runners will need to move quickly, change direction and avoid getting caught as the group makes its way through downtown Pensacola.
Awards will be presented for standout costumes and performances, giving individuals and groups another reason to get creative.
After Party at Seville Quarter
The event continues after the race inside Phineas Phogg’s at Seville Quarter.
Registered participants receive admission to the after party, which will include complimentary beer, music, dancing, entertainment and family friendly activities.
Registration also includes a commemorative Running of the Bulls race shirt.
Supporting West Florida Roller Derby
Proceeds from the event benefit West Florida Roller Derby, a registered nonprofit recreational sports league based in Milton.
For more than 15 years, the organization has provided an inclusive environment where adult skaters can develop strength, confidence, teamwork and athletic skills through roller derby.
The league is affiliated with the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association and welcomes participants of different experience levels.
