Pensacola Bartenders Face a Secret-Ingredient Challenge Sunday

O’Riley’s ninth annual championship gives guests 11 cocktails, local competition and a People’s Choice vote.
Eleven Pensacola bartenders will compete for cocktail bragging rights Sunday, August 23, during O’Riley’s Irish Pub’s ninth annual Bartender Championship.
The 21-and-older event begins at 2:30 p.m. at 321 S. Palafox St. in downtown Pensacola. Admission is advertised at $25, while the current online checkout price is $26 with processing fees included.
Advance tickets are strongly recommended because O’Riley’s says only a very limited number may be offered at the door.
How the Competition Works
Each bartender receives an assigned spirit and a secret ingredient, then develops an original cocktail for the judges and attending guests.
A ticket includes admission, samples of all 11 competing cocktails, complimentary finger foods, beer and liquor partner samples, and one ballot for the People’s Choice award. The winning drink may earn a limited-time place on O’Riley’s menu.
The venue had not published the complete 2026 competitor lineup as of Thursday morning.
Ticket and ID Rules
This is strictly a 21-and-older event. The name entered during ticket registration must match the guest’s valid photo identification, which will be checked at the door. Tickets cannot be purchased for anyone younger than 21.
Accepted identification includes a valid U.S. driver’s license, state-issued ID, passport or U.S. military ID. Tickets are nontransferable, and O’Riley’s will not issue refunds within 72 hours of the event.
The venue also cautions that cocktails and food samples may contain common allergens. Guests with allergies or dietary restrictions should ask before sampling.
What to Know About Seating and Parking
The championship starts after O’Riley’s Sunday brunch. Once it begins, indoor seating will no longer be available for normal food or bar service; regular service will be limited to available upstairs and outdoor seating.
No dedicated event-parking instructions are available. Guests should allow additional time to find street or public parking in the Palafox Street area.
