The Blue Angels are scheduled to return to the skies over Pensacola Wednesday, August 26, for their only Pensacola practice of the month.

The public practice at NAS Pensacola is free, the National Naval Aviation Museum is free to visit, and selected members of the team are scheduled to participate in an autograph session following the flight.

If you want to make Wednesday more than just a quick trip to the base, there are also several ways to build an entire Pensacola Beach day around the practice, including watching the Blue Angels from a boat on Pensacola Bay.

Blue Angels Practice Details

Wednesday, August 26

Flight line opens at 9:30 AM

Practice begins around 10:30 AM

National Naval Aviation Museum

1750 Radford Blvd.

NAS Pensacola

Practice demonstrations typically last approximately 45 to 55 minutes.

Admission to both the practice viewing area and the National Naval Aviation Museum is free.

August 26 is also listed as an autograph day on the National Naval Aviation Museum’s official Blue Angels schedule.

Want a Different View? Watch the Blue Angels From the Water

The museum flight line is the traditional place to watch practice, but it is not the only option.

Chase N Fins offers a dedicated Blue Angels practice cruise that takes guests onto Pensacola Bay for approximately 2.5 hours while the team practices overhead.

Watching from the water gives you open views of the demonstration without spending the entire morning around the museum flight line.

For visitors already planning a beach day, this is also one of the easiest ways to turn Blue Angels practice into a full Pensacola experience.

Book a Blue Angels Practice Cruise

There are several other local operators offering Blue Angels viewing cruises as well.

Where to Watch From NAS Pensacola

The official public viewing area is located on the Museum Flight Line north of the National Naval Aviation Museum.

Signs around the museum direct visitors toward practice parking and viewing areas.

The flight line includes open bleacher seating for approximately 500 people.

Visitors can also rent seating onsite.

Standard chair rental: $6

Admiral’s Club seating: $12

The Admiral’s Club option includes bottled water and earplugs.

Neither seating option can be reserved ahead of time, so availability is first come, first served.

The museum, flight line, concessions and merchandise operations are cashless.

Stay After Practice for the Blue Angels Autograph Session

Wednesday is more than just a practice day.

Selected Blue Angels team members are scheduled to visit the National Naval Aviation Museum after the demonstration to meet visitors, answer questions and sign autographs.

The autograph session is free.

The museum does not guarantee that everyone will receive an autograph, and the exact participating team members and start time can vary.

If getting an autograph is important, plan to remain at the museum following the flight and listen for announcements from museum staff.

Make Wednesday a Full Pensacola Beach Day

Blue Angels practice usually ends before lunch, which leaves most of Wednesday open.

Instead of heading home immediately, you can use the practice as the beginning of a full day around Pensacola Beach.

Go Parasailing Over Pensacola Beach

After watching the Blue Angels overhead, get your own view from above the water.

Key Sailing offers parasailing trips from Pensacola Beach with flights lasting approximately 10 to 12 minutes.

It is an easy afternoon activity to pair with a morning Blue Angels practice.

Spend the Afternoon at Laguna’s Adventure Park

Families can also head to Laguna’s Adventure Park after practice.

The Pensacola Beach attraction includes go karts, zip rails, a three story ropes course, climbing attractions and other activities near Casino Beach.

It works particularly well if you are bringing kids to Blue Angels practice and want something active to do afterward.

End the Day With Glow Paddle

If you want to keep the day going after dinner, head back onto the water after sunset.

Glow Paddle offers a 45 minute nighttime experience in illuminated clear kayaks on the protected waters around Pensacola Beach Resort.

That gives you a pretty good Pensacola day: Blue Angels in the morning, the beach during the afternoon and glowing kayaks after dark.

ID and NAS Pensacola Access Rules

Civilian visitors traveling to the museum must enter NAS Pensacola through the West Gate at the south end of Blue Angel Parkway.

Public base access is available from 9 AM to 3 PM.

U.S. citizens and nationals age 18 and older must present a REAL ID compliant identification card or another accepted form of identification, such as a valid U.S. passport.

Drivers must also meet base identification requirements.

Foreign nationals may enter when accompanied by a qualified U.S. citizen in the same vehicle and must carry the required documentation outlined by the museum.

Visitors should review the National Naval Aviation Museum visitor information before leaving home if they have questions about identification or access.

Parking, Bags and What to Bring

Parking at the museum is free but limited.

The base can temporarily stop admitting public visitors once museum and lighthouse parking areas reach capacity, making an early arrival especially important on Blue Angels practice days.

Backpacks and coolers are prohibited.

Clear bags are permitted, along with small clutch purses. Diaper bags and medically necessary bags may be inspected.

Visitors can bring water in a secured container.

Alcohol, weapons and drones are prohibited.

Uber and Lyft vehicles cannot enter NAS Pensacola. Standard taxis can enter only when the driver has appropriate base access.

Check the Schedule Before You Leave

Blue Angels practices are subject to weather, maintenance and operational requirements.

Even when a practice appears on the published schedule, conditions can cause delays or cancellations.

Check the official Blue Angels practice schedule before heading toward NAS Pensacola Wednesday morning.

One of the Best Blue Angels Days Left in Pensacola

With only one Pensacola practice scheduled during August, Wednesday should be one of the busier practice mornings of the month.

If you want the traditional experience, arrive early and watch from the museum flight line before staying for the autograph session.

If you want something different, book a boat and watch the team practice over Pensacola Bay.
