The final full week of August brings one of the biggest Blue Angels practice days of the season, free admission to Fort Pickens, a major kids consignment sale and several family events around Pensacola.
We narrowed this week’s guide down to six events actually worth putting on your calendar, with a mix of free events, outdoor activities and a few opportunities to make a full day out of Pensacola Beach.

Tuesday is the 110th birthday of the National Park Service, and U.S. citizens and residents can enter participating national parks without paying an entrance fee.
That includes Gulf Islands National Seashore, where entrance fees are normally charged for areas including Fort Pickens and Opal Beach. Other charges such as camping or reservations are not included in the waiver.
If Fort Pickens has been sitting on your Pensacola bucket list, this is a good day to finally make the drive.
Explore the historic fort, stop along the beaches inside Gulf Islands National Seashore and make a full afternoon out of the west end of Pensacola Beach.

Pensacola Beach
Pensacola Beach’s free Tuesday night concert series continues with Mass Kunfuzion.
The eight member local band mixes classic rock, Motown, funk, smooth jazz, country and oldies at the Gulfside Pavilion overlooking the Gulf.
Admission is free. Bring a lawn chair or blanket. Pets and glass are not permitted.

Practice begins around 10:30 AM

If you only pick one thing from this week’s list, this is probably it.
The Blue Angels return to the skies over NAS Pensacola Wednesday for their only scheduled Pensacola practice during August.
Practice begins at or around 10:30 AM and lasts approximately 45 minutes. August 26 is also one of the team’s scheduled autograph days, with members of the Blue Angels expected to meet fans inside the National Naval Aviation Museum following practice. Practice viewing, the autograph session and museum admission are free.
Public visitors should enter NAS Pensacola through the West Gate on Blue Angel Parkway. Adults 18 and older need a REAL ID compliant identification or another accepted form of identification for base access. Parking can fill, so arriving early is recommended.

Shop More Than 70,000 Items at Lullabies & Mudpies

Parents looking for kids clothes, toys or baby gear may want to leave some room in the trunk this week.
Lullabies & Mudpies returns with its massive fall consignment event featuring more than 70,000 items from over 500 local families.
Shoppers can find clothing from infant through tween sizes, toys, bikes, baby equipment, shoes, books, seasonal decor and other family items.

Many participating items drop to half price during the later discount shopping periods Friday and Saturday.
Take the Kids to GOLDSTRONG Fest

GOLDSTRONG Fest returns Saturday morning with a free family event supporting children and families affected by childhood cancer.
Rally Gulf Coast is kicking off Childhood Cancer Awareness Month with Touch a Truck experiences featuring local first responders, crafts, outdoor games, family activities, food and more.
The event runs from 9 AM to noon and admission is free.
Beyond giving families something different to do Saturday morning, the event helps bring attention to pediatric cancer research and local families facing childhood cancer.
Get a $10 Park Pass at Laguna’s Locals Day

Laguna’s Adventure Park
Pensacola Beach
Locals get one of the better Pensacola Beach deals of the summer on Sunday.
Laguna’s Adventure Park is hosting Locals Appreciation Day with $10 all day park passes for eligible local residents.
The park includes go karts, ropes courses, zip rails, climbing attractions, a splash pad and other waterfront activities. Standard all day passes normally start substantially higher, making the locals promotion an easy excuse to spend Sunday on Pensacola Beach.
Laguna’s lists local park pass pricing for residents of Escambia and Santa Rosa counties, with local identification required.
Visiting Pensacola rather than living locally? You can still book regular Laguna’s Adventure Park passes through Must Do Pensacola.
Make Plans Before August Is Over
There are only a few weekends of summer left, and this week gives you several reasons to get out before September arrives.
