The final weekend of August still has plenty happening around Pensacola.

You can catch stand-up comedy Friday night, explore Pensacola’s haunted side Saturday evening, spend Sunday morning with puppies downtown or use the last part of summer for a dolphin cruise, snorkeling trip or private dinner on Pensacola Beach.

Here are seven things worth putting on your weekend plans.

Take a Dolphin Cruise Around Pensacola Bay

Available throughout the weekend

Pensacola Beach

One of the easiest ways to turn a regular Pensacola Beach day into something more memorable is to get out on the water.

Frisky Mermaid offers dolphin cruises through Pensacola Bay and Santa Rosa Sound aboard a large vessel with indoor and outdoor seating.

The trip gives families, couples and groups a chance to look for dolphins while seeing Pensacola Beach and the surrounding waterways from a completely different perspective.

Because weekend departures can fill, this is one worth reserving before heading to the beach.

See the Blue Angles Comedy Show

Friday, August 28

8 PM

BagelHeads Downtown

916 E. Gregory St.

Pensacola

Friday night brings another Blue Angles Comedy Show to BagelHeads Downtown.

Pensacola comedian Hunter Stuart headlines the show with comedians from around the Gulf Coast, including Mr. Mic, Adam Dybdahl and several Pensacola regulars.

The show is 18 and older, BYOB and includes free parking. Doors open at 7:30 PM with stand up beginning at 8 PM.

Go Snorkeling Around Pensacola Beach

Available throughout the weekend

Pensacola Beach

There is still plenty of summer left in the water around Pensacola Beach.

Jolly Sailing offers guided snorkeling trips around Pensacola Bay and Santa Rosa Sound with equipment and instruction included.

The excursions are designed to be approachable for beginners and families, making this a good option if you want something more active than spending the entire afternoon sitting on the beach.

Fitness sessions continue throughout the morning with barre, yoga and Pilates, kickboxing and other workouts, plus food, drinks, wellness vendors and recovery experiences. A portion of every ticket supports Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Florida.

Explore Haunted Pensacola on a Ghost Tour

Saturday evening offers something completely different.

Go Glow Paddling After Dark

Available throughout the weekend

Pensacola Beach Resort

Pensacola Beach

Once the sun goes down, you can keep the beach day going from inside an illuminated clear kayak.

Glow Paddle takes guests onto the protected waters around Pensacola Beach Resort in kayaks lit with waterproof LED lights.

The experience lasts around 45 minutes, which makes it an easy activity to add after dinner without committing the entire night.

It is one of the more unique nighttime activities on Pensacola Beach and works well for couples, families and groups.

Weekend sessions can sell out, so booking ahead is recommended.

Spend Sunday Morning With Pickleball and Puppies

Sunday, August 30

8 AM to 10 AM

Portside Pickle

740 Commendencia St.

Downtown Pensacola

Sunday morning combines pickleball with adoptable puppies along the downtown Pensacola waterfront.

Dog Days of Summer brings dogs from the Pensacola Humane Society to Portside Pickle with a mobile adoption truck, open pickleball courts, a community dog walk, vendors and food trucks.

The event is free, and free parking is available in Portside Pickle’s dedicated lots.

Make the Most of the Last Weekend of August

You do not have to choose between an event and a beach day this weekend.

Spend Saturday morning at GOLDSTRONG Fest, head toward Pensacola Beach for a dolphin cruise or snorkeling trip, then finish the evening with the ghost tour or Glow Paddle.

Sunday morning can start downtown with puppies and pickleball before another afternoon at the beach.
