One of the most intense events on Pensacola Beach is back this weekend.

The Pensacola Beach Firefighter Challenge brings strength, speed, and nonstop competition to the sand, drawing firefighters from across the region to compete in physically demanding events right on Pensacola Beach.

If you’re looking for something different to do this weekend, this is one of the most unique events happening on the beach.

What the competition includes

The Pensacola Beach Firefighter Challenge is designed to replicate real firefighting tasks in a competitive format.

Events typically include:

  • Hose drags and pulls

  • Equipment carries

  • Strength-based obstacles

  • Timed runs through the full course

The layout allows spectators to follow the action easily, with continuous runs throughout the day.

Kids Challenge

The Kids Challenge takes place Saturday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.

This is one of the most popular parts of the event, giving kids a chance to run a scaled-down version of the course.

It is designed to be interactive and family-friendly, making this a strong option for those bringing children to the event.

Location and viewing

The event takes place directly on Pensacola Beach and is open to spectators.

You can walk up, find a spot in the sand, and watch the competition throughout the day.

Because events run continuously, there is no single “start time” to plan around on Saturday. You can arrive at any point and still catch multiple runs.
