The free three-day festival returns to Seville Square with fine art, live performances, heritage demonstrations and hands-on activities for children.

More than 200 artists from across the country will transform downtown Pensacola into an open-air gallery when the Great Gulfcoast Arts Festival returns November 6 through 8.

The free festival takes place in and around Seville Square, with juried art exhibits, live music, dance performances, traditional craft demonstrations, local student artwork and a large children’s activity area.

Festival Dates and Hours

The Great Gulfcoast Arts Festival will be open during the following hours:

Friday, November 6
9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Saturday, November 7
9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Sunday, November 8
9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The festival is centered at Seville Square, located at 311 E. Government Street in downtown Pensacola.

Admission is free. Reservations and advance tickets are not required.

More Than 200 Artists in One Downtown Festival

The centerpiece of the festival is its juried art show featuring more than 200 painters, sculptors, potters, jewelers, photographers, graphic artists and other creators.

Visitors can browse the artists’ booths and purchase original pieces directly from participating artists. The selection ranges from functional pottery and wearable art to paintings, sculptures and larger collectible works.

Festival merchandise, including the annual poster and T-shirts, will also be available.

Free Children’s Art Activities

The Children’s Festival gives younger visitors an opportunity to create their own art instead of only viewing the professional exhibits.

Children’s Festival hours are:

Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Activities traditionally include face painting, clay projects, sand art, sidewalk art, jewelry making and other hands-on projects. Participation in the children’s activities is free.

The festival also displays more than 2,000 pieces created by students from public and private schools across Escambia and Santa Rosa counties.

Live Performances and Heritage Arts

Music, dance and community performances will take place throughout the weekend on the festival’s stages.

The Heritage Arts area will feature artists demonstrating traditional skills such as weaving, spinning, engraving and woodcarving. These demonstrations give visitors a closer look at techniques that are often difficult to see in regular retail settings.

Food and Drinks

Most food vendors will be located around Fountain Park between Seville Square and Bartram Park.

The festival generally includes barbecue, Cajun dishes, Greek food, Asian food, sandwiches, desserts, coffee and other festival favorites. A champagne tent will be located south of the gazebo, with cocktails available from a separate tent north of Zaragoza Street.

Food and drinks are purchased separately.

Parking and Transportation

Parking can be limited around Seville Square during the festival. Paid public parking, private lots and downtown street spaces are available, but visitors should check posted rates and restrictions before leaving their vehicles.

Winterfest trolley service is expected to help transport visitors during the festival. Riders should confirm the current pickup locations and operating times before arriving.

Accessible parking will be available at Bartram Park. Drivers with a valid accessible parking permit should enter from Main Street at Barracks Street and show the permit to the officer managing the street closure.

Are Pets Allowed?

Pets are not permitted at the Great Gulfcoast Arts Festival. The restriction applies to outdoor festivals under the City of Pensacola’s ordinances.

Service animals performing trained work are governed separately from household pets.

Plan Your Festival Weekend

The Great Gulfcoast Arts Festival is one of the easiest major fall events to attend because admission and the children’s activities are free.

Visitors primarily interested in purchasing art may prefer Friday morning, while families looking for the full mix of art activities and performances should plan for Saturday or Sunday.

Review the festival map and entertainment schedule before leaving, then allow additional time for downtown parking and walking to Seville Square.
