Florida Lighthouse Day is back at the Pensacola Lighthouse & Maritime Museum, and it’s one of the best free events happening in Pensacola this April.

On Saturday, April 18, visitors can explore the lighthouse and museum grounds with free admission, along with special programming, live music, and family-friendly activities throughout the day.

If you’re looking for free things to do in Pensacola, this is one of the easiest to plan around.

Event details

  • Event: Florida Lighthouse Day

  • Date: April 18, 2026

  • Time: 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM

  • Location: Pensacola Lighthouse & Maritime Museum

  • Admission: Free

This annual event celebrates Florida’s historic lighthouses and gives visitors a chance to experience one of Pensacola’s most recognizable landmarks.

What to expect

The event includes a mix of educational exhibits, live entertainment, and local vendors set up around the lighthouse grounds.

Highlights include:

  • Educational animal programs at 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM

  • Local organizations and environmental groups

  • Food and treats, including shaved ice

  • Live music throughout the day

  • Coast Guard swag giveaways

Participating organizations include groups like the Florida Public Archaeology Network, National Audubon Society, and Gulf Coast Center for Ecotourism and Sustainability.

Live music and activities

Live music will be provided by Trainwreck Happening, adding to the relaxed, outdoor atmosphere.

This event is set up to be easy to walk through, with different stations and activities spread across the property.

It works well as a quick stop or something you can spend a few hours at.

Important access information (NAS Pensacola)

Because the lighthouse is located on NAS Pensacola, there are specific entry requirements.

Visitors without a Department of War (DoW) ID must:

  • Stop at the Visitor Control Center at the Main Gate (Navy Blvd.)

  • Then enter through the West Gate on Blue Angel Parkway

Planning for this ahead of time will make entry much smoother.

Why this is worth going to

Florida Lighthouse Day is one of the few times you can visit the Pensacola Lighthouse & Maritime Museum for free while also getting additional programming and activities.

It combines:

  • Free access to a major historic site

  • Educational exhibits and demonstrations

  • Live music and food

  • A family-friendly setup

For both locals and visitors, it’s one of the better free events in Pensacola this month.
